couchin' it ...

the big couch is a bittersweet spot in our house

it is the space where i look out the window
and wave "buh bye" to dad
as he leaves for work in the morning

but it is also one of the places where
we relax together when he gets home

also on the sweet side of the equation ...
the remote control [one of my favorite toys]
is usually found nearby

i warned you all
that it was going to get cerebral
in year number two

note: this title will surely be revised
as soon as we can decide on a witty acronym

in our first installment we present
the art of andreas gefellar
more specifically ... the japan series
there are many things that draw me to this work
the striking contrast of the largely dichromatic palette
the elegant compositions which evoke mondrian
and perhaps most importantly a shared belief that
beauty can be found in the mundane

i assure you the man is not color-blind
instead methinks he may be a maverick of fashion
a trend setter ... ahead of his time
all the cool kids will be wearing camo with stripes

round two ...

this past weekend we had another 1st birthday party
this time with the centre county crew
and it was a blast
mom made some great cupcakes
and i continued to develop my gift unwrapping skills

thanks to grandma ruth and grandpa lance
and to graunt janice and bill
for all the great presents
and a fun afternoon

and we found a use for the mini-wallet photos

we have only been in the house for seven months or so
